So, mommies, discuss: should I have another child? I can barely afford the one that I have, but I don’t know how I feel about Sophie not having a sibling.
Pros? Cons?

the reflection of me
in your eyes is
like the reflection of the sea
in the glass of a mirror
on the wall of a house
that’s slipping into
the blue-gray water
the sea locks everything
a thousand fathoms down
and gives back shadows
and whispers
of maidens drowned
and trinkets lost
in cold black depths
that swallow and hold
sand in your pockets
shells in your hair
and messages
deprived of
a bottle

Not the best photos in the world, but not everything that comes out of my camera is the shiznit.

So while we were gone, a mouse has found a way into our cabinet full of plastic containers and cookware.
From Molly’s reaction, this is apparently my fault.
I am the Pied Piper of Paresisville.
Yep: I’m home.

Okay, I promised you all photos, and so I shall deliver. First, from the California Academy of Sciences, in Golden Gate Park.

And so I am in San Francisco for a few days, just for funsies. The in-laws decided that they wanted to take a little vacation and that we all should come with them, so they rented out an entire apartment near Market Street for us to stay in while we are here (I won’t argue with them if they want to put us up). I don’t want to guess at what a three bedroom apartment here costs anymore, but here’s the view out my window:

Busy day planned for tomorrow, with Golden Gate Park, the California Academy of Sciences and the Japanese Tea Garden all planned for visits. There will be more photographic fun to come.
And yes, those of you who read here regularly: I have backdated these next few posts here to they reflect the days we were actually in the City, and not the days that you are reading these now.
I live to confuse.

Sophie would like you all to know that she is unable to walk.
She cannot feel her legs.
Because I asked her to help me pick up the mess she made while I was napping on the sofa.
Or maybe it’s just a coincidence.
