the reflection of me
in your eyes is
like the reflection of the sea
in the glass of a mirror
on the wall of a house
that’s slipping into
the blue-gray water
the sea locks everything
a thousand fathoms down
and gives back shadows
and whispers
of maidens drowned
and trinkets lost
in cold black depths
that swallow and hold
sand in your pockets
shells in your hair
and messages
deprived of
a bottle

It’s very Decemberists.
Or at least that’s how I hear it sung.
Definitely Colin Meloy.
I did miss your lovely words!
I can go with that.
I like the Decemberists.
I have no idea how to write poetry, though.
You are ocean-oriented lately
But the ocean is so worthy
Of your pen skills
Love the first part cuz it seems like you can barely get the words out fast enough…
I don’t know what’s up with the ocean thing, but I’m just running with it.
I’m all about the water, I think.
not haiku! love.
so glad you are back.
Not haiku!
I know!
Amazing!
Welcome back. I’ve missed you so…
Thank you, thank you.
Did you make me cookies?
Of course.
They’re in the back of my car ready to be dropped off.
You know where to find me!
Finally.
I have missed you.
A little.
Not like I don’t have other things to do, but I have missed your words.
And these? Are lovely.
Yes, well.
A little absence makes the heart blah blah blah.
Nice to see you back.
Lovely imagery.
It’s nice to be back, although I’m still ramping back up to normal around here. Apparently my engine is a little bit stalled after my vacation.
Things will get back to normal eventually, though.
love.
thank you for sharing this.
now where the hell are the halloween cookies?
Hell if I know, but I want then, dammit!
COOKIES!
